This Saturday, make sure you check out DJ Lisa Shaw at Ginger 62, thats sure to be a crazy show. And Wednesday the 26th my homie Graham Funke is touching down from LA / Vegas at Republic for the night, and yours truly will definitely be in attendance for that!

Who in this city hasn’t had dinner at Coast Seafood Restaurant yet? Are you insane? There is a reason they are staying packed everyday, around the clock. Check out the full review I have on them here.

I haven’t eaten at the new Keg in Yaletown, but I stopped in and checked it all out. The place is absolutely gorgeous, I’ll give them that. I am going to eat there and if they actually have great service like we are used to in Yaletown and food a little above the usual Keg standard, than I will eat my words and take back anything bac I’ve ever said about them. Chances are I wont have to but I will if need be.

Wednesday, August 19th. If you haven’t yet seen Circa Restaurant Lounge at 1050 Granville Street then now is your time. TOGA. Kicking off at 8:30pm, this will be your perfect opportunity to check out this Roman inspired restaurant the it should be seen.

Get ready for a night with sexy Roman dancers, Toga cloaked gladiators, and a special set menu at $35. How can you beat this?

The weekend past was crazy, Martinez Brothers at Ginger 62 were absolutely insane. If you weren’t there I feel very bad for you!

I had my birthday party sunday at Deuce Bungalow and Pop Opera. If you saw me, I’m sorry, things got messy haha. If you contributed to the messiness, damn you. Let’s just say thing got so out of control that the next day I woke up still unable to walk and with a broken hand.

Awesome news for Vancouver, as of January 1st all restaurant patios will get a 1am extension for 3 months! This is some actual progress with some of the cities laws which we are all tired of, which we thought would never budge.

I will update articles and hopefully a new beautiful person by tomorrow, sorry it’s taken a while, it’s tough to type with a broken up hand.

First I went with my girlfriend to see The Ugly Truth, which I gotta say I went I went in with the attitude “good thing I love going to movies”. Actually I was surprised that not only did I not hate this movie, it was pretty funny.

Gerard Butler did his thing. He made this movie definitely.

I would say go see it with your girl but don’t work for it. Maybe wait until you can rent it if you don’t have a girl. Forget that instead of seeing movies – work on getting girls.

Eff the reviews, Funny People was effing funny, if a little long at 2h15m.

Adam Sandler and Vancouver’s own Seth Rogan kill it together, both play a little more serious…. Well maybe serious isn’t the word, they play a little more real life type funny as opposed to little nicky (get me?). The additions of Jason Schwartzman and Jonah Hill are great. Go see it for sure.

I’m not soing to waste my time digging into plots, I’m not a movie critic, I’m just giving you guys a heads up.

Tuesday night was the grand opening of The Refinery, if you read my twitter all week, you know how I felt about it, we’ll leave it at that. Let’s just say I hung out at Earls in Yaletown instead.

Thursday was a huge night in Vancouver. In case you weren’t out, it happened like this. Pivo grand opening in Gastown area, which turned out to be a cool spot! Shine had a media factory party which was pretty cool, they had a crazy techno dance group that was dope. The Edge had their grand opening which was slammed. Circa was busy. Deuce Bungalow was slammed, as always. Glowbal was insane, and then Mark Rasta of Pure Image Entertainment started cracking bottle of Veuve and Glowbal got even crazier. Caprice was busy for “The Search”. Lux was busy. Venue was busy for Electrofest.

Man oh man

Friday was INSANE at Ginger62, The party in the Red Room was crazy! By the way, in case you are for some reason unaware, next Friday at Ginger62 is The Martinez Brothers and Saturday is Andy Caldwell….you aren’t ready, trust me!

Friday night Yaletown Hot Fridays was awesome, it kicked off around 4pm, I have to admit I missed a lot of it since the guys at clubZone were giving away free beer upstairs in their office. When the beer was gone we moved over to Charm Thai Resto and drank a bunch of Singha. The buzz at Charm was great.

After Charm we moved to Glowbal for a bite, it was slammed there, almost impossible to get a table…almost, but we did, ordered a bunch of satay’s which were great as always and took off.

After Glowbal we moved on to Deuce Bungalow, which was as always, but at this point I was finding it hard to stand strait in a busy room, so after one drink we moved on to Ginger62 which was also a great night, Canthrill did it again, super hot crowd at Ginger on fridays. Check it out.

On the way home we stopped at The Edge on Granville street which had a great buzz since it was open till two for food, which is amazing, the food though…. meh. I had the burger, which I wasn’t into but before I get into the food to much I’ll wait till I go a few times.

That was friday. Saturday was a completely different monster.

Once I finally woke up on Saturday at like 5pm I got my shit together and went with a few friends which included Rollan B and Allen Trottier from clubZone.com at some Japanese spot in Richmond (Manzo I think) and ate live prawns, that’s right, they were still kicking and scream while I was sucking the juices out of the back of their heads. Yum.

After that we went to the Variety Children’s Charity fashion show, auction and concert at the River Rock Casino, featuring Danny Fernandes and Elise Estrada. We got in a little late and left a little early but the people that were there were having a great time and and all bidding for a great cause.

Being, well, me…. I was still hungry so we all hit Circa Resto Lounge on Granville for some food and drinks before the night really started. we had the Pork Confit with Shanghai Noddles and the Beef Tataki and Gnocchi, both are awesome dishes. After food and a few libations we moved onto Tunnel Lounge for a bit to see Ayla Lei and the Cherrylush girls do their thing.

When the night was just about we decided to pop into Pop Opera Nightclub for a bit to check it out, said hello to Martin Rivard (GRM of Pop Opera) and Paul Stoilen (GM of Pop Opera) had a few drinks and called it a night as quickly as possible since the club was packed and I was on my fifth night of madness in Vancouver. I was done.

Sunday was good and relaxing, chilled out most of the day, hit Deuce Bungalow for a bite early on and then went to David Lam park to watch Ghostbusters outdoors with half the city, it was a fun time. Check out this list of outdoors movies happening.

Tomorrow is the grand opening of The Refinery Vancouver on Granville. Tonight Republic has a great new Monday but I’m going to chill out and watch Harry Potter.

Had dinner at Deuce Bungalow with Rollan B from clubZone, the room had a great crowd, and how can you go wrong when the night starts off with a dark n stormy! By the way, Deuce Bungalow has the strongest drinks on the strip – challenge that, I dare you!

We moved on to Republic for the Playboy Golf party, it wasn’t super busy at Republic but the crowd was real quality. After a few drinks with Laurent Munier and friends we moved on again.

We made a surprise visit to Shine in the Gastown area, it was a reggae night, which had some cool music, the front room was packed, good party all in all. Shine’s back room is dope, real dope, great for a party.

We moved along to Re-Up at Pop Opera, the night there was sick, from what I’ve been hearing its always sick, check it out definitely, it opens at 12 but get there right at 12 or you risk getting left out in the cold since they only open the back room, and capacity is limited.

After have a seriously good time at Pop Opera, we moved on to Tunnel, which was also packed, great music, great crowd, nice and busy, Tunnel pulled through big that night!

If I knew Wednesdays were that crazy I would have been all over them a looong time ago.

Thursday felt like a write off but I managed to get my shit together and meet Mr. Barry Rabold of Ginger62 for a quick chat at Morrissey, after that met Rollan B again and went strait to The Loden for their Mercury Rising event in the Penthouse / roof top patio. The Penthouse was sick. This is a really cool event, I recommend that you check it out.

We left The Loden and went to Joey’s Wine Bar in Bentall One, we both had the Ahi Tuna club, which was good and took off towards the industry grand opening of Venue.

I’m not sure what I should say about the party at Venue, I asked people opinions and I got lots of mixed ones, I’m going to leave this one alone for political reasons. If you were there then you know if you had fun or not. If you didn’t go then check it out tonight or tomorrow for their grand opening weekend.

Tonight is the Yaletown Hot Friday party with Marques Wyatt from 4-10pm then check out Canthrill at Ginger62 after. I might sleep for it, who knows
